Thorbjørn Amundsen
Senior Aviation Adviser
Thorbjørn has 45 years experience in the Aviation Business. He joined the Royal Norwegian Air Force as an 18 year old and stayed in the Air Force as a fighter pilot for 12 years.
He joined what is now CHC Europe in 1977 and spent 30 years flying in the North Sea as well as the South China Sea out of Vietnam In addition to his flying duties, he has held numerous management positions in CHC, lastly as the Nominated Quality Manager of CHC Norway, and the Head of Safety and Quality of CHC Europe, heavily involved in development of the company’s Safety Management System.
He has been an elected member of the Flight Safety Foundation’s European Advisory Committee for 9 years.
For the last 2 years Thorbjørn has assisted two Vietnamese aviation companies developing SMS and operational documentation.
He is a qualified accident investigator with education from the University of Southern California and the Southern California Safety Institute.
He is also a certificated ISO 9001 : 2008 Lead Auditor.
